Its exclusive cutting-edge technology, such as full-range speaker drivers with pure Beryllium ‘M’-shaped dome, completely open at the back, offer a listening experience with striking realism, neutrality, dynamics and transparency. Focal engineers have also developed a copper and aluminium voice coil for a revamped sound signature and incredible reliability.
The listening experience is enhanced by a sleek design and exceptional materials. Combining comfort and sophistication, Utopia is made from genuine leather, aluminium, forged recycled carbon, ‘honeycomb’-design grilles and Black Chrome-coloured rings – an array of details lending these French headphones a unique look and sound. Like the symbolic Yin & Yang depicted on the ear-cups, Utopia embodies beautiful design and high-performing sound in perfect harmony. More than just headphones, this is a sound icon.
Exclusive speaker drivers and voice coil FOCAL TECHNOLOGIES AND EXPERTISE
Utopia incorporates full-range speaker drivers with a pure Beryllium ‘M’-shaped dome, completely open at the back. Focal engineers have risen to the challenge of delivering the sensation of listening to the best Focal loudspeakers! The result is a set of speaker drivers that run with zero active or passive correction, from 5Hz to over 50 kHz. The headphones totally disappear, leaving audio signal reproduction that is unrivalled in its purity.
Focal engineers have also developed a voice coil – the centre piece of a speaker driver, along with the cone – made from copper for reliability and aluminium for lightness: an evolution synonymous with the revamped sound signature, and as uncompromising as ever.

Utopia is a combination of sobriety and distinction. Adopting the aesthetics of Focal's open-back (Clear Mg) and closed-back (Stellia and Celestee) headphones, it is adorned with honeycomb grilles on the outside and inside of the ear-cups. In addition to its Black Chrome-coloured rings – now screwed on from the inside – it delivers subtle and sophisticated aesthetic details, such as red glimpses of the speaker drivers’ motor unit or the Yin & Yang effect visible on the outer case, symbolising design and technology in perfect harmony.

RUNNING-IN PERIOD
These headphones require a running-in period in order to operate at their best.
They will run themselves in naturally after several hours of listening time.
If you want to speed up the process, we recommend playing very bassy music through them for at least 24 hours at a relatively high volume.
This will stabilise the speaker drivers and allow you to get the very best out of your headphones.
